RM 03809.001 Receiving, Controlling and Processing Scouting Requests
The first paragraph should read:
Scouting requests are generally received through the Earnings Case Management System (ECMS); which involves the receipt of electronic cases from Field Offices and other Payment Centers. These electronic cases require data correction of information that was keyed incorrectly during the time the original earnings were added to the Social Security record.
The second paragraph should read:
Generally, the Benefit Earnings Technician (BET) in the Office of Earnings and International Operations (OEIO) Division of Earnings and Business Services (DEBS) will evaluate the case in ECMS to determine the type of scouting action that is required for processing.
The third paragraph should read:
A. Review Scouting to the extent necessary to ensure accurate annotation of the wage to the Detailed Earnings Query (DEQY).
B. Make necessary transfers in accordance with RM03816.021.
