GN 00302.790 Request for Search of Deceased Person's Record

A. Who must sign request

The Bureau of the Census will honor a request for a census record for a deceased person only if the SSA-1535-U3 or BC-600 is signed by one of the following:

  • •

    A blood relative in the immediate family (i.e., parent, brother, sister or child), or

  • •

    The surviving wife or husband, or

  • •

    The administrator or executor of the estate, or

  • •

    A beneficiary by will, intestacy, or insurance.
