RM 05103.007 Examining and Grouping Forms I-157

1. A. 

   Examine each I-157 to determine that each shows as a final charge a legal citation as follows:

   On I-157's showing a legal citation which is not listed in paragraph A. above, line through the final charge shown and enter “OTHER” in the space available.

2. C. 

   If the final charge shows a five letter code word without a legal citation, forward the I-157 to the Pre-Claims Branch so that the final charge can be decoded. Refer to this section on the route slip.

3. D. 

   Separate the I-157's into two groups as follows and further handle as indicated:

   1. 1. 

      SSN FURNISHED — Handle in accordance with RM 05103.010.

   2. 2. 

      NO SSN FURNISHED — Handle in accordance with RM 05103.013.
