RM 10205.105 Is the Applicant for Name Change Replacement SSN Card Receiving Benefits?

Ask every applicant requesting a name-change replacement SSN card if he or she is an SSA beneficiary or representative payee. If yes, determine on what record the applicant receives benefits, review the MBR, SSR, and RPS, and update the records as necessary.

Additional action may be necessary to update applicable records. Also, be aware of benefit payments that are affected when the applicant has married, remarried, or divorced.
