TN 3 (03-97)
The German agencies certify their coverage on either form D/USA 5 (Agreement Between the FRG and the U.S. on Social Security) or on a computer printout, or both. A statement that no German coverage exists is acceptable if it is on a liaison form or on the official stationery of one of the German liaison agencies listed in GN 01708.025.
The year for which coverage exists appears in the first column followed by the “from - to” period expressed in day/month format.
The “from” date is never earlier than January 1, 1937.
All coverage periods are wholly within a calendar year but more than one period may be reported in a calendar year.
The number of months in a period are shown in either the contribution period or substitute period columns.
The total coverage months for the period from 1937 through the last year of coverage, are displayed in the box following the list of coverage periods.
