DI 11050.065 Additional Remarks for the SSA-831 (Disability Determination and Transmittal) for Railroad (RR) Cases

Include the following additional remarks when transmitting the case to Great Lakes Program Service Center-Disability Processing Branch (GLPSC-DPB) via the SSA 831 (Disability Determination and Transmittal):

  • •

    “Medical evidence to be secured from RRB”

When the claimant states that there is pertinent medical evidence at the Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) or EC or ICERS indicates that medical evidence is available.

  • •

    “Career RR case”

If EC or ICERS shows 120 months RR service (or 60 months RR service after December 31, 1995).

  • •

    “Dependent RR Annuitant”

If a claim for SSI, DIB, DWB, or CDB is filed by an individual who is entitled to a survivor's RR annuity as a disabled dependent of a career RR worker.
