DI 39569.001 Program Integrity Introduction
The Social Security Administration (SSA) is required to protect the privacy, confidentiality,
and integrity of all claimant data maintained by SSA; and, to protect data exchanged
with other federal and state agencies from unauthorized use or disclosure.
This subchapter applies to the Disability Determination Services (DDS) environment.
It provides policy and guidelines regarding the responsibilities of all DDS employees
and contractors, including medical consultants (MCs) or psychological consultants
(PCs) for:

avoiding conflict of interest (COI) situations;

maintaining program integrity standards;

ensuring proper licensure of consultative examination (CE) providers; and

•
reporting violations and fraud.
