HI 00601.160 Physical Therapy as Basis for Extended Care

Where a beneficiary's claim for extended care benefits is based on a need for physical therapy services, the guidelines in HI 00601.190 are used to determine whether the care constitutes skilled services. (The outpatient physical therapy and speech pathology services benefits covered under Part B must meet the requirements in this section and also in HI 00610.380.
