Regardless of whether PF9 or @ was used, you will notice that the lines that were
split still appear to be split on the edit screen. Using PF17, to view the document
as it should appear when printed, will show that the lines have been word wrapped
and are continuous text. This only works when no blank lines are involved.

After the modifications have been made the lines must be rejoined. The lines must
be reconnected using the JOIN command in the line edit margin. This is done by using
the line commands INSERT and JOIN. At the line above the point where the first line to be rejoined should appear, enter “I” in the line edit margin. In the line edit margin for the next line (the first line
to be joined), enter “J” followed by the number of lines to be joined (e.g. J5 to join 5 lines), press ENTER.
Up to 99 lines can be joined this way. Or, after entering “I”, enter “JJ” on the first and last lines to be joined in the line edit margin and press ENTER.
