This subchapter covers bills and follow-up notices generated by the Recovery and Collection of Overpayment Process (RECOOP). RECOOP is a billing and follow-up system developed as part of the modernization of the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) Debt Management Process. RECOOP is an action driven system, responsible for all billable Title II and Title XVI overpayments.
