During the processing of various types of cases involving earnings disagreements or
requests for earnings information, the Office of Central Operations (OCO), Division
of Earnings and Business Services (DEBS) is made aware of records that are incorrectly
earmarked with death indications.
The necessary action must therefore be taken so that the correct status will be reflected
on the Master Earnings File (MEF).
Minimum controls should be maintained to assure the requests are processed without
undue delay.
