RM 03258.001 General Information on ERISA

The Division of Earnings and Business Services (DEBS) and the Office of Public Inquiries receive ERISA related correspondence. If this correspondence requests ERISA information AND asks questions related to ERISA to which the SSA-L99-C1 (Potential Private Retirement Benefit Information Notice) does not adequately respond, it will have both conditions handled simultaneously, that is; the Division of Earnings and Business Services (DEBS) will take the SSN/name information needed to obtain Form SSA-L99-C1 and handle accordingly. Form SSA-L99-C1 and any response to the correspondence will be mailed separately. The Division of Earnings and Business Services (DEBS) will receive and process general ERISA correspondence, requests for the SSA-L99-C1, and correspondence resulting from previously mailed SSA-L99-C1's as necessary.
