GN 00302.600 Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Records

A. General

During the 1930's and early 1940's, the CCC (a Federal agency) employed 2 1/ 2-3 million men (primarily young men) to perform public work related to conservation and the development of natural resources. CCC records generally show the specific DB of former employees.

These records maintained by the Natural Civilian Personnel Records Center, 111 Winnebago Street, St. Louis, Missouri 63119.

B. Requesting evidence from CCC records

Request age information on Form SSA-562-U3 through the St. Louis (South Side) D0, 4365 Chippewa, St Louis, Missouri 63116

The request should contain as much of the following information as possible.

  • The claimant's exact full name at the time of entry into the CCC, and

  • Alleged DB, and

  • The home address at the time of entry and discharge, and

  • The claimant's parents' names, and

  • The rate of pay, and

  • The CCC Company name, number and location, and

  • The claimant's position title

C. Note

There is no cost for individual requests. Do not  submit a list of names on a combined request.
