A. Procedure – Birth and Death Certificates

In requesting a birth or death certificate, provide full identifying information about the individual concerned, the date and place of the event and the individual's Israeli identification or passport number.

1. Office to Contact

District Office of the Ministry of the Interior in the district in which the event occurred. If the event occurred after 1948, a record may also be obtained from the Head Registry Office, Ministry of the Interior, Jerusalem.  

2. Fee

No fee.

B. Procedure – Marriage and Divorce Records

1. Office to Contact

a. Jewish Persons

Chief Rabbinate in the district in which the event occurred.

b. Moslems

Sharia Court in which the event occurred.

c. Others

Religious authority in the place in which the event occurred.

2. Fee

  1. a. 

    Marriage Certificate for Jewish Persons: 50 New Israeli shekels (NIS)

  2. b. 

    Divorce Records for Jewish Persons: 217 NIS.

  3. c. 

    Marriage Certificates for Moslems: 46 NIS.

  4. d. 

    Divorce Records for Moslems: 46 NIS.

  5. e. 

    Other Marriage and Divorce Records: Token fee charged in some jurisdictions.
