The U.S. and Chile can use periods of U.S. and Chilean Social Security coverage earned in the U.S. or Chile before December 1, 2001, to establish entitlement to U.S. or Chilean Totalization benefits. However, the earliest possible date of entitlement to benefits under the agreement is December 1, 2001.
