Officers and enlisted personnel who were retired before 10/1/49 were permitted to have their payment recomputed on the basis of years of service at the increased base pay provided by the Career Compensation Act of 1949. Therefore, many officers and some enlisted personnel whose original disability retired pay was determined under a different formula, had their retired pay recomputed based on years of service.

Although there may be only one retirement, the amount payable may be recomputed after retirement. If it is ever computed or recomputed under a formula based in whole or in part on the direct crediting of active MS during WW II or post-WW II, MS wage credits may not be granted for the period involved. However, check for the effect of correction of military retirement records.
