In some cases, there may be a lengthy delay in documenting whether an alleged IRWE
is deductible (e.g., the case must be developed to resolve the question of need or
reasonable limits). The FO may process the case for SSI payment, taking into consideration
any IRWE already verified, without waiting for resolution of any pending IRWE issues
if the alleged IRWE is not material to SGA determination.
When the outstanding question has been resolved (e.g., need, “reasonable limits,”
etc.), make any necessary adjustment in the payment amount.
