DI 28030.031 Development of Functional Evidence in Title XVI Child Cases

A. Assessment of functioning

The disability examiner (DE) must often consider a Title XVI child's functioning in assessing whether:

  • There has been medical improvement (MI).

  • The child's impairment(s) still meets or equals the severity of the listing it met or equaled at the comparison point decision (CPD).

  • The child is currently disabled.

Apply the initial claim instructions for developing functional information to continuing disability review (CDR) cases.
