Complete Redeterminations (RZs) in the SSI Claims System whenever possible. For RZs that cannot be completed in the SSI Claims System, use form SSA-8203-BK Statement for Determining Continuing Eligibility for Supplemental Security Income Payment to record the information needed to complete the redetermination.

If you cannot complete an RZ in the SSI Claims System, use the paper SSA-8203-BK, no matter the profile code, to record the information needed to complete the RZ.

If necessary, use the instructions to complete a direct update to the SSR in SM 01305.000. You may destroy any paper forms after entering the data from the form into the SSI Claims system and uploading the document into the electronic folder.

If the official folder is paper, after using the information from the paper forms to update the SSR, save the forms in the non-disability development section until the paper claim or the post eligibility file is destroyed.
