A. Policy for evidence required for U.S. Totalization benefits

When an applicant files for U.S. Totalization benefits under the agreement with Chile, the applicant should submit the same evidence required to file a claim for regular (non-totalization) retirement, survivors or disability insurance benefits. In addition, the applicant must submit the evidence noted in GN 01702.200 through GN01702.230 when claiming totalization benefits from the United States.

For actions necessary when an applicant indicates they work in Chile on the U.S. application, see GN 01702.125 and GN 01702.130.
