GN 02602.302 Reinstatements Following Termination

A. Procedure for child’s marriage termination

If a payee or beneficiary contacts SSA in response to a termination for marriage, Code T-3:

  • •

    obtain a statement of the child's marital status.

  • •

    advise the Payment Center (PC) to reinstate benefits if the explanation is sufficient to establish that continuing entitlement exists.
