There may be occasions when the beneficiary needs assistance with the interview (i.e.,
nursing home employees, family member).
For information on third-party help requests, refer to GN 02602.620A.
When the third-party helper assists with the interview, take these steps:

Obtain the beneficiary’s permission to speak with the third-party helper.

Document the name, relationship to the beneficiary, and telephone number on the MNUP website.
NOTE: If it appears that, the beneficiary needs a representative payee, follow GN 00502.020.
