TN 16 (11-96)
Although the term United Kingdom normally means England, Scotland, Wales and Northern
Ireland, for purposes of the agreement it also refers to the United Kingdom dependencies
of the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands of Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and
Jethou. Although the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands have their own social security
systems, these systems are closely linked to the United Kingdom system and are therefore
included within the scope of the agreement.
