DI 13005.001 Field Office (FO) Procedures for Medical Continuing Disability Review (CDR) Cases
When the Social Security Administration (SSA) determines a review of an individual’s
medical condition is necessary, we establish a medical issue for the CDR on the Disability
Control File (DCF).
When conducting a CDR, the FO will:
-
•
identify and process possible medical recovery issues raised at the FO level,
-
•
obtain the prior paper folder(s) (if any) that contain the most recent favorable medical
decision also known as the comparison point decision (CPD) to associate with the current
CDR,
-
•
conduct a personal interview (when necessary)
-
•
establish and transfer an electronic continuing disability review (eCDR) in the electronic
disability collect system (EDCS) unless an exclusion applies, and
-
•
secure information and development requests by other components (Disability Determination
Services (DDS), Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR), Office of Disability
Operations (ODO), Program Service Center-Disability Processing Branch, (PSC-DPB),
and the Office of Earnings and International Operations (OEIO)).
