DDS medical and psychological consultants (MC/PCs) will not participate in the review or determination of the case when they have prior knowledge of the claimant, e.g., when the claimant was a patient.
A DDS MC/PC who gives evidence in any way to the MC/PC participating in the determination should introduce this evidence into the file in writing.
If examiners preparing determinations consider information known personally to them, they should:
Identify and describe such information in a separate report for the file.
Have the case reassigned to another examiner.
