DI 22520.015 Trailer Material Involving Work, Death, and Non-Disability Evidence
Special situations are handled as follows:

Work Activity
|
Forward material to the Field Office (FO). Annotate the SSA-408 Route Slip “Work activity
for your review and action.” This includes both title II and title XVI claims. If
the folder is a Certified Electronic Folder (CEF), follow Trailer Material DI 81020.140.

Claimant Deceased
|
If an allowance or continuance has been released, forward the material to the FO servicing
the claimant and attach an SSA-408 Route Slip stating “Claimant Deceased”. If the
folder is a CEF, see Trailer Material DI 81020.140.

Claimant Deceased
|
If a denial or cessation has been released, handle according to Material Affects the
Determination DI 22520.005 (above). Also see Notice of Death Received in DDS – Title II and Title XVI DI 23510.010.

Non-Disability Evidence
|
Forward all material not relevant to the disability determination (e.g. auxiliary
applications, change of address forms) to the FO. This includes income and resource
material relevant to Supplemental Security Income (SSI) eligibility. If the folder
is a CEF, make sure that the material is in the folder and create a message in eView
to the FO saying, “Non-disability trailer evidence for your review”.

If the folder is in the Disability Quality Branch (DQB), follow the directions in
Material Does Not Affect the Determination DI 22520.010B.4.
