DI 41005.025 Individual Age 60-65 - DIB Withheld or Terminated
A statutorily blind individual may be entitled to a retirement age benefit if their
DIB is withheld or terminated. Therefore, in any case where a statutorily blind claimant
is age 62 or over (age 60 for a surviving spouse) and DIB is being withheld or terminated,
prepare an SSA-567 to have the case referred to an authorizer to develop a possible
claim for retirement age benefits after notice has been released to the individual.
