RM 10205.070 Verify Documents for an SSN Application Processed in a Non-Servicing Office

When an application for an SSN cannot be processed because verification of the applicant's documents is required (e.g., SAVE indicates “INSTITUTE SECONDARY VERIFICATION”), DO NOT transfer the application to another office, even if the applicant's mailing address is not in your service area. This application is considered complete because all necessary documents are submitted.

Enter documents that need to be verified by the issuing agency into the enumeration system as “suspect” following instructions in RM 10205.310. Use your own office code.
