GN 00302.590 Federal Civilian Personnel Records

A. General

Evidence of age for separated or deceased Federal Government civilian employees is usually available on their official personnel records that the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) maintains. Request age information through the appropriate FO, and include the following information about the claimant in the request:

  • Full name, and

  • SSN, and

  • Alleged DB, and

  • Most recent Federal employer (including the Department or Bureau and the Agency involved, and

  • The most recent dates of Federal employment.

B. Requesting evidence from the NPRC

Contact the appropriate FO, depending on the individual’s date of separation, via Form SSA-562-U2 or e562.

1. Military Records for 1973 and earlier

Request age information through the Florissant MO FO (FO Code E76):
