Notices regarding payment (or nonpayment) of the underpayment due in an RSDI case
should be prepared in accordance with the Beneficiary Notice Manual. A Category “E” letter (one-check-only A-notice) will be generated by the MADCAP System in accordance
with the Beneficiary Notice Manual section 300. (Also see paragraph A18 in the Beneficiary
Notice Manual.) Paragraph MK 10 may be used where the underpayment is added to subsequent
benefits. In addition, since the payment or nonpayment of an underpayment is an initial
determination, the reconsideration paragraph must be included in all underpayment
notices.
