SI 00604.031 Presence in the U.S.: Question 16

A. Introduction

Question 16 helps determine whether a claimant meets the presence in the United States provision of the Social Security Act throughout the 30 consecutive days prior to the filing date.

B. When to complete question 16

Complete 16(a) for all claimants. Complete (b) only if (a) is answered "YES". Otherwise, follow the "Go To" instructions.
