A prepaid burial plan for $1,000 or less established at least 5 years prior to applying will not affect eligibility.

B. INDIANA

Personal Effects

Intangible - Cash, stocks, bonds, securities and cash surrender value of life insurance - of which the liquid cash value does not exceed $700/$1,400 are excluded.

Automobile

Excluded if essential for transportation.

Life Insurance

Cash surrender value excluded if it does not exceed $700/$1,400 when included with cash, stocks, bonds and securities.

Property Necessary for Self-Support

Not excluded.

C. MICHIGAN

CATEGORY RESOURCE LIMITS AND EXCLUSIONS

$1,500 for one/$2,000 for two.

Ineligible if the individual owns property bearing a value in excess of the maximums and not excluded.

Household Goods

Excluded.

Personal Effects

Farm/stock and implements up to $750 excluded. Personal property includes cash, automobile, trucks, stocks, bonds, bank deposits, farm machinery, livestock, land contracts, mortgages, and cash value of life insurance.

Automobile

Included in the maximums, unless needed for a plan for support.

Life Insurance

$1,000 cash surrender value or entire cash surrender value, if health of individual is such as to make continuance of insurance desirable.

Property Necessary for Self-Support

Farm stock and implements up to $750. AB - tools and equipment needed for self-support are excluded.

Other

Prearranged irrevocable funeral account approved by the State Department of Social Services.

D. MINNESOTA

CATEGORY RESOURCE LIMITS AND EXCLUSIONS

$300 for one/$500 for two for OAA and APTD. $2,000 for one/$4,000 for two for AB.
