TN 1 (05-95)
There are 24 Program Function (PF) keys located at the top of the keyboard. These keys are used for special functions and they also initiate the ENTER function when pressed.
The PF keys are already set so that each typist uses the same keys.
To view how the PF keys are set, type “SHOW” on the Head Command line and press ENTER. A list of PF key settings will appear on the screen.
The following is a list of PF Key settings and their functions:

M/SPELL
A spell checking dictionary (See NL 00702.141.)

RESUME
Returns user to edit screen

Confirm Action

Copies, Cover Letters

Calls up a menu that can underline, bold, split a line or split a line and go into stream mode. The cursor should be at the point were the action should occur when PF9 is pressed.

Mini-spec menu. The mini-spec can only be accessed from within a document. Using PF13 within a document produces a menu that asks for the UTI of the mini-spec. Enter the UTI and press ENTER. When finished with the mini-spec, press PF03 to return to the document.

Brings up a print image of a document to the screen that is similar to the way the document will look when printed.
When using PF17 to view a document, the screen may show a PRINT ERROR message. This indicates a problem with the document. Before printing the document, the problem should be resolved. (See NL 00702.140 for more information.)

Prints the document on the TAP printer. Used for drafts.

Used to move a document from an existing queue to any I Queue in the same PSC. (See NL 00702.168 for more information.)

Used for initiating exhibit letters, form letters or dictated letters. (See NL 00702.135 and NL 00702.136 for more information.)

Retrieves documents from the archive. (See NL 00702.174 for more information.)

Used to return work to the component's original I Queue
