NL 01510.010 Use of Army Post Office (APO), Diplomatic Post Office (DPO), and Fleet Post Office (FPO) Addresses

A. Policy - use Zip codes for foreign addresses

You must use Zip codes, rather than consular codes, for foreign APO, DPO, and FPO addresses.

In addition, you must use specific State and County codes instead of geographic codes.

B. Procedure – military post offices

1. Use the Zip codes

Use the Zip code the beneficiary provided and locate it in the Division of International Operations (DIO) Military Post Office ZIP Codes and Locations found in the DIO Reference Library.

2. Use of Military Post Office Zip Codes and Locations DIO Reference Library

You can find a list of APO, DPO, and FPO Zip codes, and corresponding locations, on the DIO Home Page via the DIO Resource Kit, on the Military Post Office Zip Codes and Locations page.

 

3. Use of codes for APO, DPO, and FPO addresses

Use the following State and County codes for foreign APO, DPO, and FPO addresses, depending on which list in the Military Post Office Zip Codes and Locations link you find the provided zip code:
