The FO will:
Develop the auxiliary claim in the normal manner.
Prepare an A101 Automated Determination of Award , using data from the Master Beneficiary Record (MBR). Enter a remark on the A101-“Child (spouse, mother, father) claim-Hold pending disability decision.”
Advise the applicant in writing that the decision as to whether benefits are payable will be made only after a final decision is made on the number holder’s (NH's) disability.
Adjudicate the A101. Modernized Claims System (MCS) will establish a control and transfer ownership to the PC (See DI 10105.905B. for exception).
Hold subsequent CDB claims in the FO until a final decision is reached on the disabled NH's appeal.
If the cessation decision becomes final the FO will process the claim to a denial.
If the cessation is reversed, the FO will develop the claim in the normal manner before sending it to Disability Determination Service (DDS) for the disability decision.
NOTE: Claims filed for mother's/fathers benefits at the time the claim is filed should be processed as in DI 10105.901A.
Process the claim to denial.
