Use the impairment codes in this section to identify disorders in the cardiovascular body system.

A. When a cardiovascular disorder meets or equals a Part A listing

Use the appropriate impairment code from the following table if the cardiovascular disorder meets or equals a Part A listing. If a code in the table has an asterisk (*), see the reminders in DI 33526.020D.

D. Reminders for choosing an impairment code for cardiovascular disorders

    Do not use 3750 for fully favorable determinations more than one year after the date of the heart transplant. Use the impairment code for the residual impairment. For example, use 4140 when the residual impairment is cardiac allograft vasculopathy.

    Do not use 7850 for determinations made after the attainment of age 18.
