Get additional information to verify the SSN when identifying information on the application
            differs from information on the enumeration data base records.

                     | 1 | Determine if the worker ever used different dates of birth or gave a different place

                     | 2 | Request other name or variations of names (e.g., nicknames, other married surnames)
                        used by the worker. Get information about the worker's alleged employment in the U.S.
                        after 1936. | 
                  
                     
                     | 3 | Request information the worker may have given on a previous application for an SSN
                        (e.g., names of step or foster parents instead of natural parents). | 
                  
                     
                     | 4 | If appropriate, obtain an SS-5 to update the NUMIDENT and if necessary issue an SSN
                        card. |
