When unidentified employers are shown on the MEF or SSA-1826 printout per RM 03809.009, do the following:

Obtain wage proof for all ssn's reported with the same name by this employer.

Examine source documents from each employer.

3.
Applying the rules shown in RM 03809.022, take the following action:

If the source documents shows the same information that is present in SSA databases
(regardless of whether it is an ssn holder), NAN the case.

If the source document indicates that an employer is reporting multiple individuals
with the same name, then the technician should verify the wage information with the
employer.
-

Determine if a scrambled wage condition exists
-
•
Does exist in either or both of these years and the MEF or SSA-1826 printout indicates
that no additional wages are posted to the scrambled record beyond the 5-year period
itemized, NAN the case.

Does exist in either or both of these years and the MEF or SSA-1826 printout indicates
that additional wages beyond those itemized are posted to the scrambled record, take
the following actions:

a.
Request complete itemization for the remaining years using the most recent year of
the following as the starting year to be itemized:

1.
The year the NH attained age 14, or
-
2.
The year of assignment of the incorrectly used SSN, or
-
3.
The year 2 years prior to the date shown on an incorrectly processed change of name
form( OAAN-7003) or application for social security card (SS-5), or the year 1937.
