GN 01710.106 How to Evaluate Swiss Coverage Certifications

A. Policy

The computer generated Swiss coverage records are valid without an authenticating signature.

B. Procedure

Take these actions to evaluate Swiss coverage certifications.

1. Worker's name

Determine if the correct worker's name is shown on the record. (It is usually found on the "Notre reference" line along with the Swiss social insurance number.)

2. Other identifying information

If the correct worker's name is not shown on the record, use other identifying information (i.e., U.S. SSN on the “votre reference” line, the Swiss social insurance number and the date of birth) to establish that the record definitely belongs to the proper worker. If the correct worker's name still cannot be established, refer the coverage record to DIO Analysts for evaluation.

3. Alterations

Determine if there are any alterations to the coverage record. If alterations are found, refer the coverage record to DIO Analysts for evaluation.

4. Lack of signature

Determine if the phrase “document valable sans signature” (French) or “dokument gültig ohne Unterschrift” (German) is present at the end of the form. If the phrase is present on the coverage record follow GN 01710.110 to credit the Swiss coverage. If the phrase is not present on the coverage record, refer it to DIO Analysts for evaluation.
