GN 01710.105 Swiss Coverage Certifications

A. Policy - Coverage certification

Swiss coverage is generally certified on the computer produced format shown in GN 01710.105E. below in the French language. Sometimes, certifications in German are received. Although the Swiss agreed to certify only in French, we can accept the German language certifications if they appear to be complete and authentic.

B. Description of the swiss coverage record

The Swiss coverage records include the following items.

1. Demande du

Demande du contains the date of DIO's or the FSP's request.

2. Votre reference

Votre reference contains the worker's U.S. Social Security number.

3. Notre reference

Notre reference contains the worker's name and Swiss insurance number or other reference number.

4. Date de naissance

Date de naissance contains the worker's date of birth.

5. Annee

Annee contains the year for which coverage is certified. The earliest possible year is 1948.

6. Mois

Mois contains the number of months of coverage for the year shown.

7. Revenu

Revenu contains the amount of earnings that the worker had for the year.

NOTE: This entry is not needed for U.S. computation purposes and may or may not be present.

8. Genre de cotisation

Genre de cotisation contains the type of contributions made for the year.

C. Kinds of acceptable contributions

Acceptable contributions include:

  • •

    salaries;

  • •

    assurance facultative (voluntary or optional insurance);

  • •

    sans activite lucrative (without gainful activity-probably based on domicile, rather than work); and

  • •

    sans obligation de cotiser (non-contributory).

D. Policy-non-contributory credits

When non-contributory credits are used to establish insured status, the earliest possible month of entitlement is October 1989.

Any other types of contributions should be referred to the Division of Training and Program Support for evaluation.
