There are three liaison agencies in Belgium that are responsible for implementing
the Belgian agreement. There is a pension agency which processes retirement and survivor
claims of salaried workers and their survivors. The self-employment agency processes
retirement and survivor claims of self-employed individuals and their survivors. And
finally, there is a disability agency which processes all disability claims. Since
there are two official languages used in Belgium (French and Flemish), each of the
three Belgian liaison agencies has a French branch and a Flemish branch.
