This section provides procedures for developing recipient allegations about current household composition during the RZ interview.
Opening a “REDETERMINATION with or without RECAPs” event in the SSI Claims System creates a “path” which guides the interviewer to the appropriate screens to document allegations and evidence relating to current household composition, as necessary.
Question 7 on form SSA-8203-BK Do any other people live in the same household with you and your spouse?
Skip question 7 on the SSA-8203-BK if the recipient's permanent residence is an institution.
If the recipient has an ineligible spouse, list them in the spaces provided.
Do not re-list the individuals documented in the fill-in spaces for question 6.
Develop allegations about current household composition as follows:
If the recipient alleges no other people live with them and other information in SSA records agrees , do not develop current household composition further.
If the recipient alleges that someone else lives in the household or no one else lives in the household and other information in SSA records conflicts, develop any changes per instructions in SI 02305.088G.
Determine if a protective filing applies for other individuals who live in the householdsuch as the ineligible spouse (i.e., they turned 65, or became blind or disabled) refer to GN 00204.010 and SI 00601.025.
Document information as required by POMS instructions for the issues listed in SI 02305.089F.
SSA-8203-BK - complete the fill-in spaces on the form. If necessary, use the REMARKS section of the form, too.
SSA-8006-F4 - Complete an SSA-8006-F4 for RZs completed on paper forms, if necessary per SI 00835.600.
SSI Claims System - Document material information on the LHHC and associated screens. See MS 08110.011 for instructions on completing the LHHC screen.
