ERISA requests are forwarded to the Division of Earnings and Business Services (DEBS)
from the Division of Training and Program Support (DTPS). DEBS examines each request
to determine their acceptability for SSA's compliance with the request. DEBS will
base their determination on the completeness of identifying information furnished
by the requester, i.e., plan participant's name, SSN, signature, proper third party
authorization, etc.
In addition, the DEBS will examine each ERISA request in its entirety to determine
the type of response that must be prepared.
