GN 01704.745 Claims Packages for Belgian Agencies

A. General

The Belgian agencies do not require U.S. earnings information. However, they may use U.S. coverage to establish the “recency of coverage” requirement for Belgian disability benefits. Since Belgium rarely uses U.S. coverage, do not send an E/R unless it is requested by a Belgian agency.

The Belgian agencies will forward Belgian earnings certifications only at the request of OIO.

After CAs have made a determination on any RSDI claims, the BETs should prepare initial totalization claims packages for the appropriate Belgian agency.

B. Claim filed with DO or directly with OIO—Initial packages
