GN 01706.031 Example of alternate method of crediting Italian coverage

The number of Italian QCs is equivalent to 95 weeks = 7 QCs +4 weeks = 8 QCs

                                      13 weeks

If the worker died 02/15/54, he would not be currently insured if the method of crediting Italian coverage described in GN 01706.020.B. is used. However, by using the alternate method of crediting Italian coverage, the worker is currently insured.

The U.S. earnings record would show the following when the alternate method of crediting Italian coverage is used:

    1952   F F F N

If, in applying the alternate method of crediting, two periods of Italian coverage are credited to the same quarter or there are coinciding periods of Italian coverage, apply the principles established in GN 01706.026.C. and D. in reverse chronological order.
