GN 01730.205 Preparing Claims Packages in OIO for Claims Filed Outside Austria

A. Introduction

Initial Claims packages are prepared to request Austrian coverage records and to inform the Austrian agency about claims for Austrian benefits. (See GN 01729.205 - 01729.215, for the applications and evidence required for the packages.)

B. Procedure

1. Potential Entitlement to U.S. Totalization Benefits

If there is potential entitlement to U.S. totalization benefits, prepare an SSA-2960-U3-AU to request the Austrian coverage record.

2. Claim for Austrian Benefits

If there is a claim for Austrian benefits, prepare a claims package including:

  • •

    Form SSA-2960-U3-AU

  • •

    U.S. totalization earnings record

  • •

    evidence submitted for the Austrian claim including medical evidence if the claim is for disability benefits.
