To qualify for an old-age benefit, a worker must:

1. a. 

   be age 63 with 20 years of service (age 62 with at least 20 years of service if born before January 1, 1952); or

2. b. 

   be age 62 with 15 years of service for a partial benefit.

NOTE: Women with 40 years of service may be eligible for an old-age retirement benefit regardless of age.

To qualify for disability benefits, a worker must have a loss of at least 40 percent of working capacity, and must:

1. a. 

   have been insured for at least:

   • •

     1,095 days (3 years) within 5 years;

   • •

     2,555 days (7 years) within 10 years; or

   • •

     3,650 days (10 years) within 15 years before submitting a claim;

2. b. 

   not have performed any gainful activity in Hungary or abroad; and

3. c. 

   not receive any regular cash benefits.

Hungary pays survivor benefits for the following:

• •

  surviving spouse's benefit (including divorced spouse and domestic partner);

• •

  parental allowance; or

• •

  orphan’s allowance.

To qualify for survivors' benefits, the deceased worker must have died as an old-age pensioner or met the following conditions:
