GN 01755.105 Effective Date of the Agreement with Hungary

The agreement with Hungary became effective on September 1, 2016. The United States and Hungary can use periods of U.S. and Hungarian Social Security coverage earned in the United States or Hungary before September 1, 2016 to establish entitlement to U.S. or Hungarian benefits. However, the earliest possible date of entitlement to benefits under the agreement is September 1, 2016.
