DI 11050.035 Disposition of Disability Material When Career RR Employee Does Not File for SSA Benefits
If an inquiry by a career RR employee does not result in the filing of a DIB or freeze
application with SSA:

Send any material accumulated in developing the inquiry to:
Railroad Retirement Board
Disability Benefits
Division
844 N Rush Street,
Chicago Illinois,
60611-2092

Use an SSA-408 (Route Slip) to forward this material, and annotate “Claimant did not
file claim with SSA.”

Include copies of any letters referring the NH to the RRB with the transferred material.
Do not send copies of referral letters to RRB unless the FO also has disability material
of probative value to forward to the RRB.
