Specific requirements exist in addition to all general pediatric guidelines in DI 22510.035.
The history should include a description of:
Dyspnea, wheezes, cough, etc.;
Frequency, severity, and duration of symptoms and other episodes of respiratory problems;
Response to medication.
The physical exam should include:
A description of any visible chest wall abnormality;
Cyanosis and clubbing; and
Laboratory testing should include, as appropriate:
Pulmonary function testing;
Arterial blood gas studies;
Pulse oximetry; and
